An excellent Contituency dinner was enjoyed by over 60 people at Kidderminster’s Brassiere Restaurant on the evening of Friday 17th October. Good food, good company and Michael was on excellent form for his after dinner speech. There was no escaping the Labour raffle and I asked the assembly to turn out at Bewdley the next morning to collect signatures for my Kidderminster Hospital petition – some did! A good night and Michael reminded us how bad the Tories are in the Euro Parliament (as well as ours) and he even gave us some Shakespeare. Excellent Fayre!

Saviour of Europe
Posted by nigelknowles on October 15, 2008
Gordon Brown is now referred to as “The Saviour of Europe” (and the Western Capitalist World”). You really couldn’t write the script – unbelievable.
Cameron was seen yesterday pulling up plants and shrubs in Kensington Gardens and ranting at Speakers Corner on an anti – Brown tirade dressed as John Terry in Chelsea kit.
He was led away by George Osborne who was dressed as a Shepherd, claiming the right to graze sheep in any public park in London. They in turn were joined by “The Quiet Man”, Ian Duncan-Smith who implored them to keep the noise down lest they were recognised. It’s sad really. Just two weeks ago, these three yobo’s were looking to get into Government – now -who knows? Will Dave make it as a gardener, or maybe a footballer? Will George be transferred to a Sheep Farm in Australia, and will the “The Quiet Man” ever be heard from again? Tune in tomorrow for the latest installment of “The Tories – what are they like?”

Kidderminster Harriers 0 versus Barrow 1 – Saturday 4th October : Attendance 1,686
Posted by nigelknowles on October 5, 2008
My second visit this season to Aggborough. What a difference it makes for your local team to get a win. So when they lose, its not good. £16 for a seat on a cold afternoon. Harriers hardly looked like scoring. Barrow scored an early goal from a 40 yard free kick. It seemed to be going in for ages. it was one of those goals everybody saw - it must have been in-flight for about a quater of an hour – everyone that is except the Harriers goal keeper. He did make one or two brilliant saves after that, but it’s goals that count, and Harriers were sadly lacking strikers worthy of the name. Not enough fight, too slow and not accurate in their finishing. The crowd were not happy, but as ever at Aggborough, exceedingly restrained in their opinions. Barrow’s time wasting with substitutes taking ages to get off the pitch didn’t help tempers. The Barrow goalie pretended to have lost the ball several times when it went out behind his goal. very funny – a booking on his fourth attempt to ask the Barrow fans to help him find it.
Harriers desperately need a couple of target men who can put the ball into the back of the net. I’m thinking about coming out of retirement, but in the meantime, is there a philanthropist out there willing to stump up the cash to bring a bit of joy and optimism to the Aggborough faithful?
P.S. In the unlikelyhood of Harriers now going on an extended run of 20 games undefeated, please ignore the above comments. And finally, Harriers were third in the table before kick-off. Was that the highest position they could expect this season? On todays from, they will struggle to reach the play-offs for promotion.
